And the answer is? Because of COVID 19 and mask requirements across the country, one would assume that the answer is always yes. However, it is highly suggested to check your state’s anti-mask laws. Yes, you read the statement correctly. There are anti-mask laws on the books of every state.
Who knew there were anti-mask laws prior to the pandemic? I can assure you that very few did. Generally, most states permit conceal carry and a mask but others are concerned about the intent of the person wearing the mask. Concerned about robberies.
States like Illinois is one of the few states that prohibits conceal carry and masks. According to concealednation.org, a mask designed not to hide one’s identity might be permissible, but the law isn’t clear. Clarity is important due to social unrest across the country.
Since the onset of the pandemic, the Illinois State Police offered additional insight on concealed carry and masks:
“The executive order does not require or suggest that law enforcement should arrest or criminally charge conceal carry license permit holders for wearing protective masks while in public as long as they are complying with the other provisions of the Illinois Concealed Carry Act and are not committing any other violations of Illinois law,”
Despite the amendments by the police, it is recommended that permit holders use their own discretion.

How would they know that you are a permitted concealed carrying person? Unless they stop you for some other reason. Then maybe you should let them know that you a permit holder??? depending on your state laws on duty to inform.
