The 761st Tank Battalion was an independent tank battalion of the United States Army during World War II. The 761st was made up primarily of African-American soldiers, who by federal law were not permitted to serve alongside white troops as the U.S. military did not officially desegregate until after World War II.

I had the pleasure of having a father in the 761 as well as growing up from childhood through adulthood with other members of the 761. Also having a very close friend as an adult that was a Tuskegee airmen. I only hope I have the character and the integrity of the Blackmen that helped forge my life .
