The Harlem Hellfighters were an African-American infantry unit in WWI who spent more time in combat than any other American unit. Despite their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to their country, they returned home to face racism and segregation from their fellow countrymen.

Thank you Sir for your sacrife and Service. I hate that the times were tumultuous and truly, the war wasn’t yours, but it is clear that it was a choice made to attempt to gain citizenship rights in America. My heart hurts for all out people have endured. Again, thank your. Your sacrifices have helped pave the way for us today.
