NAAGA is a nationwide network of more than 40,000 friends and family. Be sure to tell your former classmates, coworkers and relatives about our chapters in other cities. We will be highlighting various chapters throughout the year so you can learn more about them and connect people you know with NAAGA gun clubs across North America.
MTNBGC
In the June 5th edition, we highlighted the Middle Tennessee Black Gun Club. If you missed the latest news about all of the great things they have in store for 2021, be sure to check out the story on the blog.
ONYX SHARPSHOOTERS
If you have friends and family in the Forestville, MD area of Prince George’s County, Galen Muhammad will gladly welcome them to the Onyx Sharpshooters. He shared his incredible story of growing to 180 members in one year in the June 5th feature on the blog.
BLACK EVOLUTIONARY GUN CLUB
Jennifer Martin also founded a NAAGA chapter in the Prince George’s County area the same time as Galen Muhammad. Thousands of “transplants” from other parts of the USA live in New Carrollton, MD (home of the Black Evolutionary Gun Club) and its surrounding cities. We will be featuring news about her extraordinary chapter in the weeks to come. Jennifer and her leadership team can definitely introduce people you know to the black gun culture/lifestyle, and provide advanced training for seasoned gun enthusiasts. If they possess a strong passion for community outreach programs such as feeding the homeless, youth education, and of course, firearms training, be sure to connect them with Jennifer at Jmartin@begc.life.
ASK GUN CLUB
Florida is growing by leaps and bounds with new NAAGA members now that people are getting back to their normal routines. This new chapter (founded on 5/12/2021), located in the Sunrise area will hold its first official meeting Thursday, July 8th at Ardent Protection, LLC 10266 NW 46th St. in Sunrise. ASK has two main objectives: their Women’s Training Initiative through their Women in Firearms Engagement (W.I.F.E.) and Law Enforcement Outreach which attempts to bring together black gun owners, law enforcement and other key stakeholders in the black community. Be sure to reach out to chapter president, Maurice Wilford for membership and upcoming events at MauriceAWilford@gmail.com.
THE GUN TEAM OF THE MID-SOUTH
Everyone has family or friends in Memphis! And chapter president, Howie Williams would love to have them join his chapter. Founded on 5/12/2021, their first interest meeting and orientation will be held Saturday, June 26th at 2pm at JNSSI Safety Consultants located at 6075 Winchester Road, Suite 234 in Memphis (the old Hickory Ridge Mall). Kia Glenn
Tina, we suggest you contact your local chapter’s leadership. They have a better pulse on the temperament of welcoming/friendly gun stores in your area.

Are there any NAAGA chapters within the New York City area? I joined about two years ago and I’ve been disappointed so far. Other than your news letters, I’ve sent messages to whomever, but sadly enough no response. This is not good!
Kia Glenn
Woodrow, we are saddened to hear this feedback and we treat your concerns very seriously. Here are some options:
We do not currently have a NYC chapter, but you may want to join a chapter in NY and travel a few times a year to attend outings. Please refer to our chapter list: naaga.co/chapters
We are launching Virtual Chapters in the months to come. Official NAAGA members will receive updates via the newsletter. If you are not receiving it via email, please check your spam folder.
If you have not already done so, please contact Membership Support membership.support@naaga.com.
Friend of NAAGA
NAAGA National,
They need to do a better job of Promoting their local chapters with advertisement and letting the local Black Communities know that we exist.
Kia Glenn
Thank you for your comments and we appreciate your feedback. It would be more helpful if you provided us with your name and city/chapter affiliation so we can better analyze how we can help your area’s chapter with more exposure. We have 130 chapters and each club is responsible for community outreach in their area.
Regarding advertising, our clubs are very active on social media and are often featured in the news, thus eliminating the need for paid advertising. We will definitely ask our chapters to accept the challenge of securing radio interviews in their respective markets to reach more of the Black community.
In the past month, we reported how a few chapters and our national president landed media exposure on NPR, MSN, CNN, FOX, BET, Forbes, local print newspapers, radio stations, and online news outlets. In our 6/28 issue of the NAAGA Newsletter, we reported that NAAGA National President, Philip Smith and the Bass Reeves Gun Club were featured on CNN’s “Don Lemon Tonight”, ABC’s “The View”, and the story was picked up by more than 50 online news outlets. That story alone accounts for over 3 million impressions (TV viewers/internet clicks). But we know we can always do better, and appreciate you presenting this challenge to us.
