NAAGA’s Certified Instructor Course will be held on the following date (s):
October 22-24th
November 12-14th
Location: Governors Gun Range
1005 Cobb Pl Blvd NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144
NAAGA’s leadership hopes that you will continue the legacy of excellence established by generations of African Americans such as the Buffalo Soldiers, Nat Turner, Ida B. Wells, Deacons for Defense, and countless others. This certification is the highest honor a NAAGA member can attain and symbolizes outstanding firearms skills and knowledge. You will be required to pass a high-level shooting qualifier test on the range, demonstrate teaching methodologies, and show understanding of firearm laws.
Key things to remember:
Bring 300 rounds of pistol ammunition, your firearm and note taking material.
Dress in proper shooting attire.
Arrange your travel and hotel accommodations (Kennesaw, GA is about 40 minutes with no traffic from the ATL airport. There are a lot of highway construction projects currently in the Atlanta area.).
Masks are not mandated but we strongly encourage everyone to wear one and we will have extra masks and hand sanitizer available for the class. The instructors will not wear masks unless in close proximity with the students due to students often having trouble hearing the instructor which reduces the quality of instruction, it jeopardizes safety, and takes a lot of time.
The Instructor Course is comprised of the Basic Handgun Course (1 day) and the Instructor Course (2 days). Candidates may use any handgun caliber for the Basic Handgun Course. Candidates must use at least 9mm for the Instructor Course. Holsters will not be needed for any portion of the course.
Upon completing the course, all graduates will receive a NAAGA instructor’s certificate.
We look forward to sharing this experience with you.

Looking for a shooting range to practice in the NYC area and/or what are the criteria for using those facilities? Thanks

Hey Kia! Lol
George Streat
I purchased a CV 9mm handgun and looking for training. I am retired and realize that having a weapon means little without training on how and when to use it. Now that we are past the ammo shortage I hope to get the needed ammo for training. I am on a low budget, but look to purchase more rounds to qualify for training. I am also a proud member of NAAGA. Looking to attend training in November.
Kia Glenn
Hello George. We hope to see you there! Please email Training@naaga.co to sign up.

What happen with the resume I already submitted that I was told was on file for the next time an instructor course would be offered?

Hello James. Our department handles social media and the newsletter. If you email Training@naaga.co regarding your resume, they will be more than happy to assist you.

I am a member of NAAGA and a new gun owner. I’m looking for instructor based training. Outside of a few youtube videos, does NAAGA consider individuals such as myself and offer instructor based training.
Kia Glenn
We suggest you find your local chapter and reach out to the president. Each club holds trainings and they would be more than happy to assist you. If there is not a chapter in your area, we will be launching Virtual Chapters in the months to come. We will be announcing this news in the 6/28 NAAGA Newsletter. All members receive it via email, so be sure to check your spam folder if you don’t receive it regularly.

I hold current USCCA and NRA instructor certifications. My primary questions are; What is the curriculum? Who developed it? I’d love to take the courses, if they are original/unique to NAAGA. Thanks for your help.
