From BNC.TV and NAAGA
Black soldiers often do not get the credit they deserve for their service and sacrifice for the United States. This is the time to thank the service men and women who have lost their lives defending the nation.
More than a million African Americans served in the US Armed Forces in World War II. Although many faced hostilities and were in segregated units, they served with bravery and honor. Our fallen soldiers are owed prayerful gratitude and a moment of observation as we enjoy this Memorial Day Weekend.
Many NAAGA members have parents and grandparents that lost their lives while serving our country. We’re thinking of you as you reflect on their memories this weekend. You have chosen to continue their tradition as you protect your families on the home front, and instruct others to do the same. And for your current service and dedication to NAAGA, we salute you.

My father served honorably in the Korean conflict. I am proud to be the daughter of a soldier.

Between the Revolutionary War,Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War1,World WarII, Korean War, Vietnam War and latest conflicts for the last twenty years, African American Soldiers have died while serving this country and not receiving any recognition. Memorial Day has always been a mixed emotional roller coaster for the surviving men/women of African decent. I grew up going to the African American Cemetery to service the these graves and put fresh flowers on it them. I was fortunate to have my Great Grandfather, Grandfather, Father as well as myself who served and did not have to make the ultimate sacrifice. Memorial Day has more of a meaningful day than any other holiday.

The world owes a huge debt to the American black soldier. This country world would not be successful without us. The 54th, Harlem Hell fighters, Vietnam vets and the modern soldiers: plus countless faces who were disregarded. Let’s pour out a libation for those who are gone, present and forgotten!

From the Revolutionary War to the latest conflicts around the world, African descendant men and women have fought with valor for the country called America. My father was one of those who fought during WWII. He rode in the cattle car upon return while Germans defeated road in the preferred seating cars. He was angry his whole life about how terrible white soldiers treated them in war in Europe in WWII. I salute all veterans but especially the African American men and women who fought and many died for this country. We and they deserved better from the United Snakes of America !!!!

This is a great story I agree doesn’t get acknowledged of our people’s sacrifice and bravery, fighting two separate battles of survival.
I lost a Great uncle (Grand father’s brother) to WWI. His service we never learned, like so many others who must always be remembered and celebrated.

I’m grateful for our ancestors and family members who lost their lives defending freedom and equality in every conflict this country has been through. It was their hope and prayers that their sacrifices would create fair and equal opportunities for us all.
We continue to serve our country that’s reluctant to serve us back.👮🏿♂️

We weren’t respected then and we’re still not respected. Should we continue to fight for and fight in this country wars??🤔🤔🤔
Kia Glenn
That is an individual decision. While we have so much farther to go, look at how far we’ve come.
